What is Pass2Class?   Pass2Class offers free bus passes to Contra Costa students at the beginning of the school year to encourage the use of bus transportation to and from school. Pass2Class reduces traffic congestion and air pollution by reducing the number of cars being driven to school. Up to two months of rides are being offered for the 2021/2022 school year to help students as they return to in-person learning. The deadline is October 15, 2021, or until supplies last.
Meals

Free meals for all students

All students can receive a free breakfast and lunch at no cost in 2021-22 thanks to a USDA Meal Waiver for all school children in the country. This means that families are not required to fill out applications to be eligible for School Breakfast or National School Lunch programs. However, families may still apply to be eligible for the USDA Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (or P-EBT) program, which provides money for the food that can be purchased using P-EBT cards.

Although income levels no longer need to be reported for the meal program, the district is still asking families to complete “Alternate Income Forms'' to determine the percentage of low-income students in the district. This is important because it determines the district’s eligibility to receive additional revenue through the state’s Local Control Funding Formula. Districts with higher percentages of low-income students receive more funding to help meet their needs.
