Prom

Prom Bus Sign Ups start today at lunch in Room 602. You must have your entire group with you to sign up! Please form a line outside the door and you will be called in one group at a time.

 

Diplomas

Sheets are out to pick the staff member to hand you your diploma at graduation. Please make sure your first and last name are printed clearly and circle the name of the staff member you would like to give you the diploma. Please turn in to Ms. Stobing’s mailbox or Room 602

 

Senior Walk

Seniors- would you like to join us for Senior Walk? On Thursday we will be heading to our feeder pattern elementary schools to show them what it looks like to graduate and talk to them about advice for getting across the stage! You must be eligible to pick up your cap and gown on Tuesday. Please stop by Room 602 for permission slips!

 

Cheer Tryouts

Are you interested in joining our cheerleading team?  Do you tumble? It is a new Fall and Winter season spirit squad and Spring Competitive STUNT program.  Tryouts for the 2018-2019 year will be Tuesday through Thursday in the dance room after school.

 

Dreamers Club

Curious about your immigration options? Come to YV's Dreamer Intake Service (DIS) Session hosted by the Ed Academy and the Dream Club during LUNCH on WEDS May 23rd in Room 310.

If you are undocumented, have DACA or TPS, the first step to taking control of your future is finding out about your options. The DIS is a free, anonymous and personalized online service, staffed by legal service professionals, that helps you learn about your immigration options. Come to our DIS Session and get in-person assistance, right here at Ygnacio Valley High School.

 

Spring Concerts

Come enjoy some music and support your classmates as they perform their final concerts of this school year! Choir and Guitar Ensemble perform on Tuesday May 29; band, orchestra, and jazz band on Thursday May 31. Both concerts are at 7pm in the M.U.

 

Cap and Gown Distribution

Cap and Gowns will be distributed at brunch and lunch only on Tuesday, May 22. All fines must be cleared in order to pick up your cap and gown before graduation and to receive your diploma at your graduation. Seniors can check the windows at the Main Office Conference Room to see if they are listed on the senior fines list. If you still need to purchase or borrow a cap and gown you must call Josten’s directly. Please see Mrs. Ridings for information.

 

Final Transcripts

Don't forget to complete your final transcript request form located outside the Registrar's Office and turn it into Registrar. The final transcript will be sent to your college after graduation. If you plan on playing sports in college, you will need to send a transcript to NCAA Eligibility Center once you register with them. Any questions, see the Registrar.

 

Shoe Drive

We are hosting a Shoe Drive to provide shoes to those in need in several villages in Ghana. We are accepting sneakers only- any shape or condition. Please have laces tied together and drop off in the Main Office or in Room 602. We have extended the Drive through May 30! Please help make a difference to a child! Clean out your closets and donate today! If you would like to learn more- please check out Think Kindness.org

The Concord Police Association is offering one $1000, four $500 and eight $250 scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college, who attend a Concord school or are dependents of active or retired Concord Police Association members. Prom

Good news! We have extended Prom ticket sales through Friday. If you are planning on attending Prom- please turn in a completed contract to the VP office. We are working with ALL students to make sure they can attend if they want to go. Tickets are $145 each and that includes mandatory transportation, full sit down dinner, music and entertainment. It will be an amazing night at the Masquerade Prom- you don't want to miss out!

It’s time to Say Goodbye! Join us for our Last Spirit Week of the year! Tuesday- Game Day- Wear your favorite game shirt, whether it’s Fortnight, Mario Brothers, Baseball or Football! Would you like to speak at Graduation? We will be holding auditions on Wednesday, May 16 at 2:45 in the VP office. Please come prepared with a two minute speech and five copies of the speech. Be a representative of your class- speak at Graduation!

Into The Woods

5th Grade Camp

Sophomores, juniors and seniors interested in being a 5th grade camp counselor. Applications are in the College and Career Center. A mandatory training workshop with be held on Wednesday, March 14 immediately after school. See Mrs. Santos for details!

Hey Warriors...HOMECOMING GRAMS are being sold by your cheerleaders this week and next.  You can purchase roses and stuffed animals to be delivered to your friends and teachers to celebrate homecoming week.  Have a date to Homecoming?  Want a creative way to ask that special someone?  Homecoming Grams is a great way to ask your date.  Homecoming grams can be sent to friends to cheer them on for the big same or let them know you appreciate them.  So have fun, support the team and come purchase your Homecoming grams from a cheerleader or at Lunch in the quad everyday this week.  GO WARRIORS!!!

Warrior Football

Senior Picnic

Senior Picnic is on Thursday, September 28 at Little Hills in Pleasanton. Swimming, BBQ, games, transportation and more are included! The price is only $40! Tickets are on sale now through this Thursday, September 21. All Seniors must have a permission slip to attend! You must also have a waiver for the rock climbing wall (and closed toe shoes)

Student Parking Permits

Parking Permits for YVHS students are on sale for $20 in the Treasurer’s Office; come by and pick up an application!  Note:  All cars parking on school property must have a YVHS parking permit (staff and students).  Staff can get their permits in the Main Office.   Students must have a valid driver’s license and car registration and proof of insurance to purchase a student parking permit.

 

Senior Shirts

We will do one more order of Senior Shirts- you must pre-purchase by next Friday! $20 with your name on it, $15 without. Don’t miss out on your Senior Shirt! Buy at the treasurer’s office today!

 

Picture Makeup Day

Picture Makeup Day is on Wednesday, September 20. Passes will be sent to classes. If you need an order form, please see Mr. Alvarico in 210.

 

Cafeteria News

Did you know that you can get your brunch and lunch at the carts inside the multi-use room ?

Starting on Wednesday 9-20-17 cinnamon rolls will only be sold at brunch on the cart.  We make 50 fresh homemade cinnamon rolls every day for brunch.

Also starting now are our daily specials at the Cart.  Don’t wait in the long lines go to the cart and get the specials.  We will have a limited number to start with at the cart as a trial this week.  We will still have our special inside on the kitchen lines.

Attention juniors and seniors! Plan to attend the 18 annual Historically Black Colleges & Universities Recruitment fair on Tuesday, September 12 at Deer Valley High school. Seniors can bring their current transcripts and SAT/ACT scores if available, and have an opportunity to be admitted on the spot to a university. Receive application waivers, and scholarships. Learn what these schools have to offer. All junior and senior students are welcome regardless of race. Please see Mrs. Santos in the College and Career center to get a field trip permission slip!
